Our disabled access ramps have gone through numerous tests to ensure the quality and user health and safety you would expect from Ra'alloy Ramps. Some 20 years of manufacturing has given us a wealth of experience to manufacture the perfect access system for the client. We do not import ramps, we manufacture and design at our Telford plant Structural Analysis Where public access is concerned it is our opinion that every precaution should be taken to ensure the wellbeing of the user and in particular the ramp system is structurally sound. Our disabled access ramps are covered by full structural analysis which was standardised for our design. Therefore every product that we manufacture is designed within that specification. In most cases suppliers of aluminium access systems import the products and do not conform to any specification. The picture left details the header of a seventy page document that supports our disabled access ramps. No matter what shape or size we can design a ramp that will be of sound structural excellence.
Although building regulations offer stipulations on ramp angles certain areas are only advisorys. At Ra'alloy Ramps we have carried out tests of ramp angles up to twelve degrees and compiled a loading table. This loading table gives clear and concise readings of start loads on the ramp section at various angles. Measure in Kgs. the table stipulates the amount of force required to initiate movement of the wheelchair from a standing start by a helper or the individual user. This is useful when sometimes space is restricted and it ensures that the any force required meets Health and Safety obligations when the ramp requires slightlly steeper angles than those recommended by Part M.
Our testing policy also includes tests by independent bodies to ensure that the ramps do not break under the imposed loads met by public use. The ramps are taken to breaking point and then a Safe Working Load is issued to a divisble factor of 3, thus ensuring a 3:1 margin of failure. Other Features
Ra'alloy Ramps anti slip floor is also a major factor in the safety of the user. Not only is ribbed but also serrated for full lateral traction. The picture right shows the flooring in a natural aluminium colour however we can colour coat the aluminium to suit the surroundings. We usually anodise the floor for long colour life. Our ramps are also designed to make it possible to use the modules elsewhere if required From this brief page you can see that with Ra'alloy Disabled Ramps you are investing in quality that will remain maintenance free for years.
