1989

Ra'alloy Ramps were first manufactured in 1989 by Graham and Ray Corfield a small father and son company. Little did they know then that they would start a revolution in access solutions on a worldwide basis.

thumb_fly_by_nite_truck_ramp.jpgWith over 50 years experience between them in aluminium fabrication , Ra'alloy aluminium ramps was given the seal of approval when an Entertainment Trucking Company asked them to build a ramp using the Ra'alloy Ramps base idea of a super non slip aluminium floor that would not wear, and incorporate it into their ramp.

From then on there was no turning back when marketing started. Offering free trials of the ramps the company began to grow with most trucking companies changing their entire ramp fleet to Ra'alloy.

1994

Calls began to come from many individuals and companies asking if they could also vary their ramps to suit the specific requirements and again Ray and Graham obliged.

1997

The quality of the fabrication shined, and was seen by other areas of business such as entertainment venues, Rail companies etc who asked if concert staging and rail platorms were in the Ra`alloy scope. Of course the Ra'alloy design team obliged

1999

thumb_trapeze_rig.jpgThis led to other sub products designed and manufactured in aluminium such as portable stairs. 1999 was an important year when a chance meeting in London  while exhibiting led to a major contract with Butlins Holiday Resorts. Asked if we could manufacture `Trapeze Rigs`by the then Entertainments Director, Graham said Yes!
It turned out that Butlins were due to reopen after a major refurbishment in 6 weeks and had been let down by the Italian suppliers. We came in and Butlins opened on time.

2001

thumb_rapistage platform used as ground support for integrated self climbing roof.jpgWhile our Ramp business was reaching new heights and new markets were being entered into such as disability access we also developed a fully relocatable Rail Station for English Welsh and Scottish Railways. This led us to develop a platform structure that could span 3 metres  and maintain a 7.5 Kn per square metre loading and be supported on only 1 leg. The possibilities were endless and we soon incorporated this Rapideck structure into Concert Staging which was used in places such as Dubia for their shopping festival.

2005

thumb_movable_platform.jpgFollowing on from a major fire in this year we moved the facilities from Wolverhampton to Telford and concentrated on developing the companies core products such as Ramps, Platforms and Stairs. From then on there was no looking back. With each individual product comes a major variation of customer requirements. Major retail outlets had health and safety issues with the way their employees were handling goods and asked us to assist, we obliged. Major public organisations were requiring full structured disabled access in aluminium rather than steel, we obliged. The Typhoon Aircraft Flight Simulator required a special moveable platform, we obliged........ and the list goes on.

 2009

thumb_aluminium_aircraft_stairs.jpgWith the ramps and platform side of the business still growing internationally we have been asked to produce two special products.
One is a telescopic marine gangway and the other is a set of portable stairs in which aircraft can carry in the hold, On both we have obliged and now have included this within our standard product range.

While we are always updating our core products and with a compliment of 'Blue Chip' and individual customers the Ra'alloy brand is being launched worldwide.

But in all this, we have one philosophyto our clients, say

'yes we can` and  `we promise we will'
