Manufactured from lightweight aluminium the plates are easy to handle and position. The floor of the trench cover surface is from our anti slip floor that does not wear and remains anti slip in the most oily and greasy conditions. When the Pit Plates are used for Train service the bridging plate is manufactured to standard rail gauge and can be either slotted onto the top of the rail track or on the inner side of the rail. ( detailed below )
When slotted to the inner side of the track there is enough gap between the track and the edge of the Pit Plate so that the train can be moved without removing the Pit Plate while still maintaining a flat top surface for safety. Optional slot in handrails are available. Our Pit Plates leave a safe walkway across any service trench.
