Ra'alloy disabilty access ramps can be manufactured to suit virtually any application. Take a look right and see how we have adapted our system to fit over an existing concrete disability ramp and bring it up to Access For all specifications without having to remove the ramp saving time and money on site.

Even the floor has an opening to service a manhole and does not lose any strength.

ramp_proposal.jpgAll Ra'alloy aluminium disabled ramps are manufactured in house under stringent quality conditions.

Our in-house deisgn ensures you get the optimum solution for your requirement and offers a model view of your system prior to manufacture which ensures that you are fully aware of the system that we are proposing and you have full satisfaction

Handrail

horizontal_handrail.jpg

ballustrade_handrail.jpg

Our handrails are available with 2 variations, either double horizontal handrails or Ballustrade type handrails for use where infills are required and also to prevent climbing on, in particular at schools.

The top handrail is usually plastic coated and warm to the touch with a minimum 200 micron coating and can be supplied in various colours

Flooring

disabled_ramp_with_change_of_floor_surface.jpgOur all weather anti slip floor is a specially designed aluminium extrusion which has ribs running across the span and is then serrated to give full lateral traction.

Running along the edge of the floor is a 10 cm upstand which is usually powder coated in a contrasting colour to the handrail and floor.

Where a landing is positioned the floor is usually anodised black, again contrasting with the silver floor. All landings also have a change of surface at the leading edges to warm of an incline.

Loadings

Ra'alloy standard Access For All and Disabled Access Ramps carry general engineers reports to confirm the base product conforms to loading and deflection charactoristics stated in BS6399 Loadings For Buildings ( BS6399 available here )

Exterrnal balconies or access ramps should accomodate the same loading as the rooms to which they give access.

The minimum imposed floor loadings given in BS6399 Part 1 is as follows

Private dwellings = 1.5kN/mē
Light Industrial / Offices = 2.5kN/mē
Institutional Buildings = 3.0kN/mē
Guest Houses / Social Clubs = 3.0kN/mē
Banking Halls / Laboratories = 3.0kN/mē
Hotels / Motels / Museums and Galleries = 4.0kN/mē
Industrial (medium) and Warehouses = 5.0kN/mē
Dance Halls / Theatres / Gymnasia = 5.0kN/mē
Industrial (heavy) Plant and Boiler Rooms = 7.5kN/mē

Ra'alloy manufacture three variants to cover the above - Light Duty which is Engineered up to carry up to 3.0kN/mē - Medium Duty which is Engineered to carry up to 5.0kN/mē and Heavy Duty Engineered up to 7.5 kN/mē

Our ramps assume a maximum deflection limit of span /300 which simply means that on a scale of 1 to 300 then 300 is the most rigid such as an office floor and say 125 is a very springy floored disabled ramp, very often found on buildings where the ramp does not comply to any loading requirement.

Either soft or hard suface base fixings are available and in both cases site disruption is kept to a minimum as no lifting equipment or groundwork equipment is necessary.

We are confident that we are probably one of the only companies that supply access ramps to meet the conditions set out above and manufacture to a standard tried, tested and carry's a full Engineers report to prove it.
